The Hindu Kush are the mountains separating Afghanistan from Pakistan. The name means “killer of Hindus” because any armies/soldiers from Hindustan died in the freezing cold corkscrew, craggy mountains before reaching Afghanistan. These mountains also led to the demise of the British who tried to conquer Afghanistan.
